Dear Mr Gaffney,

YOUR REQUEST:

I would like to know the average (mean) response times for 999 calls made
to the police in Cheshire for:

2015

2016

2017

2018 so far (if data is available)

OUR RESPONSE:

In accordance with section 1(1) (b) of the Act, our response to your
request is as follows;

 Average response times for each of the years requested are;

Average
Response
Time
2015 00:22:00
2016 00:23:58
2017 00:26:11

·         The time data supplied relates to the time from the incident
being created in the control system and the first resource to arrive at
the scene.

·         Not all 999 calls result in an emergency attendance and so for
the purposes of this request we have limited the calculation to those 999
calls that resulted in either an emergency or priority response in terms
of our deployment grades. The individual parts of which are shown below.

·         It is worth noting that not all emergency response and priority
response incidents are created as a result of a 999 call, some are
generated from 101 calls and from other agency requests.

·         Cheshire has had a new incident system introduced in 2018 and
therefore comparative information is not available for this year.

Average
Response
Time
G1 -
EMERGENCY
RESPONSE
2015 00:10:18
2016 00:10:32
2017 00:10:51
G2 -
PRIORITY
RESPONSE
2015 00:46:26
2016 00:56:00

If you are not satisfied with the decision applied in this case I enclose
for your attention a copy of the Constabulary's appeal procedures.

Regards,
