“Have you since 01/01/2020 conducted any reviews into the use of AI? If so can
you publish the findings along with methodology used?”
On 11 April 2023 you clarified:
“I mean by reviews have you examined the use of AI to help you in doing your
work as an organisation?”
We have handled your request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the
FOIA).
Our response
We do not hold any information in scope of your request.
We have checked with the relevant departments and can confirm that we have
not conducted a review into the use of AI at the ICO between January 2020 to
present.
For information, the ICO does not use any artificial intelligence (“AI”) technology.
We therefore do not have any internal policies, assessments, guidance or other
documentation that relates to the ICO’s use of AI. We have also not conducted
any Data Protection Impact Assessments for the use of AI technology at the ICO.
This concludes our response to your request.
