Information Requested:
I am making a freedom of information request for a list which includes the amount of
Disclosures requested in the last 12 months by each Registered Body.
Response:
Please find attached Excel spreadsheet detailing the amount of applications received in the
last 12 months (November 2010 – October 2011) by each Registered Body.
Please note –The Police Act 1997 (Criminal Records) (Registration) Regulations 2006,
provide for the conditions that are attached to a Registered Bodies registration. The
regulations include a condition that the number of applications countersigned by the
registered person in any 12 month period shall not be fewer than 100. The CRB periodically
reviews the volumes of checks submitted by Registered Bodies (RB’s) and may, where
appropriate, look to consider invoking powers to suspend or cancel the registration for
those organisations that do not meet the minimum requirement.
