Dear Mr Petrovic
FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST – REF: 1210-12
I wrote to you on 7 January about your Freedom of Information request. You have asked to
see copies of all documents held by the FCO dated between 13 and 28 November 2012 that
refer to Ante Gotovina and Mladen Markac.
In my letter of 7 January I confirmed that the FCO does hold information that meets the
terms of your request. I also stated that the deadline to respond to your request needed to
be extended until 1 February 2013 as further time was required to take a decision on where
the balance of public interest lay in relation to your request.
Unfortunately this has proven more complex than we initially estimated. We require more
time to take a decision on where the balance of public interest lies in relation to your request.
We require a further extension of 20 working days. We now hope to provide you with a
response to your request by 1 March 2013.
The specific exemption which applies in relation to your request is: Section 27 – International
relations.
If you are unhappy with the service you are receiving and wish to make a complaint, please
write to the Information Rights Team, Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Room SG 120,
The Old Admiralty Building, The Mall, London, SW1A 2PA. E-mail:
xxxxxx.xxx@xxx.xxx.xx. You have 40 working days to do so from the date of this letter.
If you are not content with the outcome of your complaint, you may then apply directly to the
Information Commissioner for a decision. Generally, the Information Commissioner cannot
make a decision unless you have exhausted the complaints procedure provided by the FCO.
The Information Commissioner can be contacted at: Information Commissioner's Office,
Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF.
Please contact me if you have any queries about this letter.
Yours sincerely,
Edward Munn
