Dear
Mr O'Sullivan,
Freedom of Information Request – FOI2022/00539
I am writing in response to your email received by Post Office Limited (“
Post Office”) on
11 August, which is being dealt with under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act
2000 (“
FOIA”) in which you requested the following:
“[Criminal Procedure and Investigations Act 1996]
Can you please detail what procedures POL,its Lawyers,Invesigators,Contracts
Managers and IB took to comply with Section 3 of this act?”
At present our view is that your request falls within the scope of the section 42 FOIA qualified
exemption. As permitted by section 10 FOIA, Post Office requires further time to consider
the public interest test in relation to this exemption. An extension is permitted until such
time as is reasonable in the circumstances. Having considered the FOIA Code of Practice
and in light of the volume and complexity of the material requested, Post Office considers
that an extension of 20 working days is appropriate in this instance and will therefore aim
to respond to you by 7 October 2022.
Yours sincerely,
Information Rights Team
