Dear Mr Colbert
Freedom of Information Act Request: Ref FOI 42-22/23: Response
NHS Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) was formally dissolved on 30
June 2022 and the new NHS Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Integrated Care Board was established on
1 July 2022. The statutory responsibility for responding to your Freedom of Information CCG has transferred
to the ICB.
I am therefore writing further to your request made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 received on
14 June 2022. NHS Cambridgeshire and Peterborough’s response is set out below:
1. how many of the ICS/ICBs are created already, and operational / is yours
One. Cambridgeshire and Peterborough CCG became NHS Cambridgeshire and Peterborough (ICB) on 1
July 2022
2. How many / has yours created shared care records?
None as this has not yet gone live
3. Who were the systems that these records sit on created by, as in which third party software
provider (for instance, Graphnet)
Chosen provider to support shared care records is Orion Health
4. Who creates the Shared Care Records themselves, i.e. GPs, Hospitals, Social Care Providers (if
so, please name them for your area).
None yet as not gone live.
Shared Cared Records are created from information held within existing systems.
5. Who, outside of the NHS has access to them? For instance; DwP, Immigration, Local Councils,
GPs, the local Police, Social Care, or private health providers (if so, this last question is in two parts
- firstly a confirmation or denial that this is or is not the case - then a list of the private providers you
work with please).
None yet as not gone live.
It is anticipated that as Shared Care Record goes live
• GP practices will have access to Shared Care Records
• Council social care staff who provide direct care to patients and citizens will have access.
At present there are no plans for the DwP, Immigration and the Police to have access to the Shared Care
Records.
Details of which organisations have access to Shared Care Records will be published via the website
https://www.mycarerecord.org.uk/
6. How do people opt out of this if they want to?
Individuals can opt out of sharing information by directly contacting the Shared Care Record via email or
telephone. A public fair noticing campaign will inform individuals of how to opt out – this campaign will be
launched prior to the Shared Care Record solution going live. If an individual has already opted out of
sharing their data currently i.e., via their GP, prior to go live, their record will not be shared when the Shared
Care Record goes live.
7. How have people been told they can opt out, as in, by Email, Phone, leaflet in local GP surgery.
and what % of people that your ICB (or relevant body) covered have been informed directly about
this restructuring or their records, and to stress, how have they been most importantly - please list
any and all initiatives for this.
A public campaign is due to take place prior to the Shared Care Record going live, to ensure individuals are
aware that their records will be shared across the health and care partners. In addition to an online
campaign to be delivered through all our existing Partner online channels, a door drop flyer will be sent to all
households across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. If an individual wishes to opt out, they can contact
via email or phone.
There is a website available to all
https://www.mycarerecord.org.uk/who-s-involved
8. How many opt outs have there been?
None as Shared Cared Records are not yet live.
9. Is awareness for the ShCRs being done at any point on a national level, or as stated above, purely
through brochures inside local clinics - please explain any national drive there is to inform people of
this new set of decisions, and what the response has been to it (i.e. both the methods people have
responded by, and amount of people who have responded)
At present not aware of any national awareness campaigns being run or planned at a national level. The
campaign Cambridgeshire and Peterborough will be using is a regional campaign across the East of
England.
