I refer to your e-mail dated 31 October 2021, requesting:
“Can you please provided the following information -
Total number of ICU (intensive care unit) patients for the year 2018?
Total number of ICU (intensive care unit) patients for the year 2019?
Total number of ICU (intensive care unit) patients for the year 2020?
Total number of ICU (intensive care unit) patients for the year 2021 (up to latest date)?”
I can now respond as follows:
Can you please provided the following information -

Total number of ICU (intensive care unit) patients for the year 2020?
Total number of ICU (intensive care unit) patients for the year 2021 (up to latest
date)?
Please see the table below showing of all ward transactions relating to significant facility
code 13 - ICU. The table shows the number of admissions into an ICU ward and the
number of transfers into an ICU ward where this was not the patients admission ward.
Some patients may be moved in and out of ICU more than once during their hospital stay,
all transfers in have been included.
