Subject: A100 Course Applicants
REQUEST
As of the May UCAS deadline for Institutions to make their decisions on applications (or end of cycle,
if you do not still hold information for this date), can you please confirm how many places there
were for your A100 course, how many applicants you had, how many were invited to interview and
how many offers were made, please?
I would like this information for 2021 entry, 2020 entry and 2019 entry, please, and split into Home
and International fee status, please.
Could you also please state the BMAT cut off required for an interview for each of these years for a
standard, non-contextual applicant, please?
RESPONSE
The following number of places were available per year:
2019 entry: 125 Home/EU plus 4 overseas
2020 entry: 125 Home/EU + 21 additional places + 4 overseas
2021 entry: 125 Home + 12 additional places + 4 overseas/EU
In 2020, after the centre assessed grades were published, a significant number of extra applicants
had met the conditions of their offer and the government agreed to ful y fund enough places for al
of those to be admitted in 2020.
For 2021, the government has funded additional places to accommodate any applicant from last
year who opted to take the autumn exams and then met the conditions of their offer from last year.
Additionally, as a consequence of Brexit, EU students now count towards our international medical
student quota.

Information relating to the number of applicants, those invited to interview and offers made for
2019 and 2020 entry are available on the University’s website. This information is therefore exempt
from disclosure under Section 21 of the Freedom of Information Act, information reasonably
accessible to the applicant by other means. This message acts as our refusal notice.
The information can be found here:

apply/#admissions-statistics-409970-0
Information relating to the number of applicants, those invited to interview and offers made for
2021 entry are below:
Applicants: 752 Home, 243* overseas
Invited for interview: 511 Home, 28 overseas
Offers made: 274 Home, 4 overseas
*this represents an over-estimation of overseas applications, as the fees status of all applicants was
not checked. Only those who were successful and invited for interview had their fees status double
checked and some of those al ocated as overseas by UGA online would undoubtedly have been re-
assigned to Home status on further enquiry
The BMAT cut off scores required for interview are below:
2018: cutoff score (total BMAT score) for interview = 10.2
2019: cutoff score (total BMAT score) for interview = 9.7
2020: cutoff score (total BMAT score) for interview = 9.5
