Your right to seek a review
Should you be dissatisfied with the way in which the University has dealt with your request,
you have the right to require us to review our actions and decisions. If you wish to request a
review, please contact the General Counsel, Aston University, Birmingham, B4 7ET or e-
within 40 working days. Your request must be in a recordable
format (letter, email, audio tape, etc). You wil receive a full response to your request for review
within 20 working days of its receipt.
If you are dissatisfied with the way in which we have handled your request for review you may
ask the Information Commissioner to review our decision. You must submit your complaint in
writing to the Commissioner within 6 months of receiving the response to review letter. The

I would like to request data regarding the clearing process in Aston,
specifically, could I please request the fol owing for the past 3 UCAS cycles;
1. the number of applicants to the medicine course through clearing
2018 entry – 18
2019 entry – 25
2020 entry – 366
2. the number of clearing interviews given
2018 entry – 16
2019 entry – 20
2020 entry – 24
3. the number of students who were successful in obtaining a place through
2018 entry – 10
2019 entry – 14
2020 entry – 7
4. the average GCSE, a level grade, and UCAT scores of the successful
2018 entry – Average Academic score was 20.6 out of a total of 24.
Minimum 17 and Maximum 24.
Average UCAT score was 2501 out of a total of 3600. Minimum 2040 and
Maximum 2690. Bands 2 and 3
Average MMI score was 75%. Minimum 60% and Maximum 90%
2019 entry – Average Academic score was 20.2 out of a total of 24.
Minimum 19 and Maximum 24.
Average UCAT score was 2521 out of a total of 3600. Minimum 2190 and
Maximum 2790. Bands 1, 2 and 3
Average MMI score was 78%. Minimum 67% and Maximum 88%
2020 entry – Average Academic score was 22 out of a total of 24. Minimum
21 and Maximum 24.
Average UCAT score was 2629 out of a total of 3600. Minimum 2410 and

Average MMI score was 55%. Minimum 49% and Maximum 61%
Finally, if you have already been interviewed with the medical school are you Applicants who have been interviewed may stil apply through Clearing. Their
stil able to apply through clearing and does this affect your chances at
previous application and interview would be taken into account.
