Dear
,
Many thanks for your response on this. As
mentioned, the planning framework we are producing will explore how we
can improve the existing pitches and associated facilities. It is envisaged that is will be taken forward as a high level guidance
document.
We are in the early stages of producing the planning framework but we expect it to be finalised by the end of October. We
are currently working with our consultants and Sports and Leisure colleagues to develop potential options for improving the
site in line with the PPS.
Perhaps once we have drafted more detailed proposals we could meet to present our ideas and have a general discussion
the site and the framework? We would be ready to meet mid to end of September.
Best wishes,

Hi
Thank you for the details below and putting me in touch with
.
I’m not personally familiar with the site and my colleague
led on the PPS from an ECB perspective, but I’ve
copied in my colleagues from Essex Cricket who have the local knowledge.
The ground has two fine turf squares (one standard, one poor quality) and a non-turf pitch (poor quality). The PPS also
identifies that the nets are of poor quality.
The priorities according to the PPS would therefore be to improve the quality of the pitches and nets and we would be able
to advise and support.

This message originated outside the organisation.
Dear
,
Thanks for the call and updating me on the proposal for Low Hall Sports Ground and surrounding area.
To follow up on a couple of points we discussed;
Sport England have limited guidance in relation to maintenance as there are many site specific factors that influence
maintenance regimes. Ideally, liaising with a sports agronomist would be best to look at a specific regime at Low Hall
Sports Ground. That said, maintenance is covered relatively briefly in our ‘Natural Turf for Sport Design Guide’ which
can be found at https://www.sportengland.org/how-we-can-help/facilities-and-planning/design-and-cost-
guidance/outdoor-surfaces
Details in relation to our funds can be found at https://www.sportengland.org/how-we-can-help/our-funds
As discussed, I recommend that you contact
 at the ECB and
k at the Football
Foundation (copied into this email) for specific guidance on their specific sports, including funding avenues.
are developing a Planning Framework for the area which includes Low Hall Sports
Ground. I do recall there being some issues with the site in the past but I could not recall to what extent. At this stage, the
direction of travel is for ground improvements, replacement Artificial Grass Pitch etc., i.e. following the recommendations of
the emerging Playing Pitch Strategy. Any advice you can give to
 would be much appreciated.
If you have any further questions or seek any further advice please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to see how
the Framework develops.
Kind Regards

Planning Manager
