11 May 2021 Freedom of Information Request: Roehampton University and EU and EEA
Dear Mr Hai
With reference to your request made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, dated
4 February 2021 I can confirm the University holds some, but not all, information
Your request was, in general terms, for the following information, which is set out in full
detail below: changes to fee status for some cohorts.
Your request and our response:
With changes coming for EU and EEA students (some other groups as well).
What plans has the university made for changes in status and fees?
This question is taken in reference to the changes in EU student status and fees
since the UK left the EU on 31 January 2020.
Details of EU student fees for 2021/22 can be found on the
website https://www.roehampton.ac.uk. Regulated tuition fees have remained the
same for EU students and are equivalent to their UK counter-parts.
In respect of un-regulated tuition fees, EU students may be charged the fee
applicable to international students with scholarships being offered to bring them
in-line with home students, in future.
Has the university done any work on the financial impact of this change? As the fees for Home and EU are the same for 2021 entry to regulated tuition fees
-no specific analysis has been done to model the impact of the change in EU
student status’ or fees for financial years 2020/21 and 2021/22.
When was the last assessment done?
Financial forecasts are routinely conducted on a broader basis but as mentioned,
there has been no change in regulated fees, or as yet, unregulated fees.
If you are dissatisfied with how we have dealt with your request in the first instance you
may approach the University’s FOI complaints officer in writing, within two months of the
date of our response, and explaining what you would like us to review, as follows:
Ms Kim Small
Head of Legal Services
Room GH103 Grove House
Should you remain dissatisfied with the outcome you have a right under s50 of the
Freedom of Information Act to appeal against the decision by contacting the Information
Any other future correspondence you may have with the University in relation to this
matter should be sent to the Freedom of Information Officer, Alison Bainbridge.
