Dear Mr Westwood,

Thank you for your email of 19 January 2021 requesting the following information:

“I am doing some research in to RAF Shipton near York. It used to be a regional nuclear
command bunker up until the early 90s. Now it is owned by a company called HMX Crown
property but this company does not exist.
Do you know who owns it and for what purpose it is being used for?”

I am treating your correspondence as a request for information under the Freedom of Information
Act 2000 (FOIA).

A search for the information has now been completed within the Ministry of Defence (MOD) and I
can confirm that no information in scope of your request is held.

Under Section 16 of the Act (Advice and Assistance) you may wish to note the information you
have requested may be available to you via the HM Land Registry site at
https://www.gov.uk/search-property-information-land-registry.
