Dear Abdul Hai,

Freedom of Information Act 2000 - 9901131

Thank you for your request for information which was received on 8 December 2020
and considered under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

You requested:

“Can you provide me with a list of authorites which have refused to publish how they spent
the grant money which they have been given for COVID for businesses and other
organisations?”

We are writing to advise you that, following a search of our paper and electronic records,
the information you requested is not held by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and
Local Government. The department does not keep records of any local authorities who
have consciously refused to publish how they spend the business support grant monies
they have received during the COVID-19 pandemic.
For your information, the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy have
published a detailed list of the funding received by local authorities to support small and
medium businesses in England during the COVID-19 pandemic.  This is accessible at the
following link: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-grant-funding-local-
authority-payments-to-small-and-medium-businesses.
