Dear Mr James,  
 
I  am  writing  regarding  your  request  for  information  which  we received via email 
on  22/09/2020.  In  that  request  you  asked  for  information  in  relation  to 
international nurse recruitment.   
 
We  are pleased to provide the fol owing information in response to your  specific 
questions. 
   Could I please request if the trust used agencies to recruit 
international nurses during 2019 or earlier if not last year?  
 
Yes, we did use agencies to recruit international nurses during April 2019 – 
March 2020 
 
  Agencies used and which framework  
 
Placement (PCR) Group (on framework) 
 
  If the trust did use agencies, how many nurses were recruited and 
how much was spent recruiting overseas nurses via both framework 
and off framework agencies? 
 
40 RNs (on framework) were recruited for April 2019-March 2020 
£298,920 in total 
 
  Can I also have the total cost to recruit one international nurse and 
what upfront costs the trust incurred, with the cost broken down?  
 
No upfront costs, £7,473 per RN 
 
  Does the trust also conduct their own OCSE training? If not who do 
you use?
