Westminster Council are under the illusion that they above the law due to having "friends in high places". Well guess what? Our "friend in high places" is bigger than their " friend in high places" (as they're going to find out)!

Parietes habent aures:

excogitatum est super his, ut homines quidam ignoti, vilitate ipsa parum cavendi ad colligendos rumores per Westminster latera cuncta destinarentur relaturi quae audirent. [...] ideoque etiam parietes arcanorum soli conscii timebantur.

After these events, it was devised that certain unknown men, who were little to be feared on account of their utter unimportance, were sent to gather rumours throughout all the corners of Westminster and to report back what they heard. [...] And so even the walls, the lone confidantes of secrets, were feared.

Dear Miss Preston,

I have been deliberating over your initial (and quite bizarre) response to my request which reads....

"The address is in Councillor Caplan's Ward and he knows some people who live there. They are not close associates of his within the meaning of the Members' Code of Conduct."

As previusly mentioned this nonsensical reply had confused me and it may be due to this fact...

The company, 68 Randolph Avenue Ltd, is based at:

Station House
9-13 Swiss Terrace
Swiss Cottage
NW6 4RR

...which is blatantly not in Councillor Caplan's ward at all.

With the greatest of respect what the Dickens does your response mean?

Yours sincerely,

George Meredith

David Boothroyd left an annotation ()

Station House in NW6 is not in Little Venice ward (it isn't even in Westminster) but 68 Randolph Avenue is in Little Venice ward. I would assume that 68 Randolph Avenue Ltd is the limited company set up to manage the freehold of a building which has been divided into leasehold flats where the leaseholders have a share of the freehold.

The registered office of the company is presumably that of the managing agents whom the leaseholders have appointed. Given the address, I'd guess that that is Pembertons Property Management.

Thanks David! Very helpful info. I look forward to their reply!

Funniest thing I've seen on here for quite a while!

So they misread the question and yet only PARTIALLY upheld the complaint?

George Meredith

Dear Miss Catherine Preston,

April Fool's Day has now passed and this joke of an answer isn't even remotely funny.

The next step will be a request for an Internal Review of your Internal Review and then off to the ICO for their amusement.

Yours sincerely,

George Meredith
