Dear Inzamam Rashid
Freedom of Information Act 2000 β Request for Information
We are pleased to respond to your request for information and our response is set out
below for both Greater Huddersfield and North Kirklees CCGs.
Request
"Simon Stevens and Amanda Pritchard wrote to all NHS trusts and CCG Chief
Executives on the 29th of April to advise that employers, on a precautionary basis,
should conduct risk assessments for staff at greater risk during the COVID-19
pandemic and to act accordingly.
Has your organisation completed risk assessments on all Black Asian and Minority
Ethnic (BAME) staff?
Please note all CCG staff are currently working from home, and have been since 5pm on
23 March 2020. The CCGs have acted on the request and have identified all BAME staff
within the organisations. All staff are in receipt of a letter outlining the concerns regarding
the emerging evidence of COVID-19 on BAME staff and that the organisations are
ensuring staff feel safe and supported at work and able to discuss any concerns they
have. In addition to this, risk assessments have also been undertaken and continue to be
undertaken as a priority and all line managers have been briefed on the greater risk of the
COVID-19 pandemic.
AND
What precautions, if any, have you put in place to protect BAME staff once they've
been risk assessed?"
We are ensuring that line managers are doing regular check-ins with BAME colleagues to
enable concerns to be raised and addressed together with all the potential adjustments
referenced in the risk assessment template.
