Dear Inzamam

Freedom of Information Act 2000 – Request for Information

We are pleased to respond to your request for information.

1.  Simon Stevens and Amanda Pritchard wrote to all NHS trusts and CCG Chief
Executives on the 29th of April to advise that employers, on a precautionary
basis, should conduct risk assessments for staff at greater risk during the
COVID-19 pandemic and to act accordingly. Has your organisation completed
risk assessments on all Black Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) staff?

Please note all NHS Calderdale CCG staff are currently working from home, and have
been since 23rd March 2020.

The CCG has acted on the request and has identified all BAME staff within the
organisation.  All BAME staff are in receipt of a letter outlining the concerns regarding
the emerging evidence of the greater impact of COVID-19 on BAME staff.  It also
explains the work the organisation is undertaking to ensure staff feel safe and
supported at work and able to discuss any concerns they have with their line manager.
In addition to this, all risk assessments have been undertaken as a priority and all line
managers have been briefed on the greater risk of the COVID-19 pandemic.

AND

2.  What precautions, if any, have you put in place to protect BAME staff once

they've been risk assessed?"

We are ensuring that line managers are carrying out regular check-ins with BAME
colleagues to enable concerns to be raised and addressed together with all the
potential adjustments referenced in the risk assessment template.

I trust that this information answers your request.  However if you are not happy with our
response or the service you have received in relation to your request and wish to make a
complaint or request an internal review of our decision you should write to the Chief

Officer, NHS Calderdale CCG, 5th Floor, F Mill, Dean Clough, Halifax, HX3 5AX, quoting
the reference number above.

If you are not content with the outcome of the complaint or internal review with regards to
this Freedom of Information request, you have the right to appeal to the Information
Commissioner under Section 50 of the Freedom of Information Act.  The Information
Commissioner will not investigate your case unless you have exhausted our complaints
procedure.  The Information Commissioner can be contacted at:  The Information
Commissioners Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF.
