REVIEW OF REQUEST UNDER THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000
Thank you for your emails of 22 June, 23 June and 30 June 2020. You asked for an internal
review of our response of 22 June 2020 to your request for information of 20 May 2020. In your
request you asked for information on the objectivity of scientific advisers.
I have careful y reviewed the handling of your request and I agree that the decision to inform
you that the information is not held by the Cabinet Office was correct. I have therefore
concluded that I should uphold the decision given in our letter of 22 June.
In your request for an internal review you asked for your information request to be dealt with
under the Transparency of Lobbying, Non-Party Campaigning and Trade Union Administration
Act 2014. This legislation does not provide a right of access to recorded information, whereas
the FOI Act does. I have therefore reviewed our response to your FOI request under the
Freedom of Information legislation.
The Office of the Registrar of Consultant Lobbyists is subject to the FOI Act and should you
wish to make a request for information to them there is guidance on how to do so at:
https://registrarofconsultantlobbyists.org.uk/foi/
In your request, you asked for information on Professor Neil Ferguson, Dexamethasone and
Hydroxychloroquine, Patrick Val ance, SAGE. the Oxford vaccine, Professor Chris Whitty and
Matt Hancock’s attendance at the World Economic Forum. You may wish to consider

reformulating your request on these matters and directing it to the Department of Health and
Social Care who may be able to assist you on these points.
If you are unhappy with the handling of your request for information you, have the right to apply
directly to the Information Commissioner for a decision. The Information Commissioner can be
