Hi,

Can I please confirm if we have been clear with SSG that until Monday’s assurance visit,
that they work to EMT level scope of practice only even if they supply Paramedics when we
have requested EMT’s.

The risk assessment is around PGD’s the Paramedics are using from SSG within our
contract as this currently is not clear and [REDACTED] will be able to support this on
Monday. Also the previous visit focused on EMT level drugs as this was indicated as the skill
level we were using.

Regards

Hi,

We have been informed that both [REDACTED] and [REDACTED] have suspended the use
of SSG with immediate effect. I understand that they will be undertaking assurance visits on
Thursday of next week.

We are unclear why now [REDACTED] have taken the decision to suspend services with
[REDACTED] following.

We will be undertaking a site visit to Rainham on Monday of next week. The CQC report will
be published tomorrow.

Can I raise one point for a decision please – Paramedics who are currently working on our
contract through SSG and PGD’s.

Can I suggest that we provide SSG with the following until we have visited on Monday or
further detail comes to light.

That SSG only provide EMT’s on our contract who work within the agreed scope of practice
however should a Paramedic be provided they are also to work to the scope of an EMT in
matters of medicines. (noting not all medications fall under PGD’s however previous
assurance visit only focused on EMT level medications).
