Dear Applicant,
FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST REFERENCE NO: 1287.2019-20
I write in connection with your request for information which was received by North Yorkshire Police
on 05th March 2020. I note you seek access to the following information:
I would like to request a breakdown of any recorded crimes, that have taken place on or adjacent to
cycle paths in the City of York area (LA area) for the years 2000-2020.
Extent and Result of Searches to Locate Information
To locate the information relevant to your request searches were conducted within North Yorkshire
Police.
I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by North Yorkshire Police.
Decision
I have today decided to disclose the located information to you.
1) Please see the below tables detailing the number of crimes where, cycle paths were listed as
the location of the crime for a period of 01.01.2008 to 31.12.2019.
Please note that figures pre 2008 are held on a historical crime recoding system and data is
unable to be extracted in the same way. Therefore, it would mean a manual read of all older
crimes to find crimes relating to cycle paths. In doing this it would surpass the amount of time
outlined in the act and have therefore not been included in this response.
Furthermore there does not appear to be any crime recorded so far in 2020 with the location
of cycle path (as of 10/03/2020 when request was ran).
