We are Independent Assessment Services. We conduct Personal
Independence Payment (PIP) assessments for the Department for
Work and Pensions (DWP). Our job is to help DWP understand how
your health condition or disability affects your daily life.
One of our Health Professionals has looked at the information you
sent to DWP, as well as any further information they asked for from
the people involved in your treatment or care. After doing this, we
have decided that we need to see you for a face-to-face
consultation to discuss your health condition or disability further.
Please let us know straightaway if you cannot come to your
appointment so we can see if we can offer you a different time
or date.

In some cases, if your health condition or disability means you find
it difficult to travel, we might agree to pay the cost of a taxi or have
the consultation in your home. Please let us know as soon as
possible if this is something you would like us to consider.
We know that some people worry about coming for a consultation,
but you can bring someone with you to help answer any questions
you will be asked. It’s really important that you come to your
appointment because we’re only allowed to rearrange it once. If you
miss your appointment without good reason, DWP may end your
PIP claim. If you also currently get Disability Living Allowance
(DLA), DWP would also stop this.
Your health may also have changed since you first applied for PIP.
If you have any recent or new evidence of how your condition or
disability is affecting your daily life, please bring this with you too.

what extra information could be helpful.
This leaflet also gives you lots of other helpful information about
what to expect on the day including which two proofs of identity
we need you to bring and who you can bring with you.
