Further to your request for information regarding: 
Please provide a list of all the civil litigation proceedings that have issued 
against Birmingham City Council in the following courts (but not heard or 
if heard judgement not yet entered) as at 31 December 2019
County Court
High Court - Queens Bench, Chancery and Family
Court of Appeal
Supreme Court
The information required is
1) Name of Plaintiff
2) Name of Defendant
3) Reason for Claim
4) Value of Claim in the proceeding
5) Hearing Date - when it has been scheduled
6) Hearing Venue
The terms ‘civil litigation proceedings’ will likely include the Civil Litigation team, 
Personal Injury, Housing and Community Safety and elements of Employment 
etc. As all of their work concerns the Courts and proceedings within a civil 
jurisdiction.  Also, you have stated “as at 31 December 2019”.

Does this means, from 31st December onwards or any time prior to 31st 
December 2019 (with no indication how far back in time we must go), the 
request is too wide. 
Therefore, our preliminary searches indicate that due to the size of Birmingham 
City Council and its jurisdiction, the request in its current form is likely to exceed 
the Fees Limit set out in section 12 of the Freedom of Information Act. 
It may be possible to answer the request if it was narrowed down either by a 
particular service area, with a set out timeframe.  
Please advise us how you wish to proceed.  The request will be placed on hold 
until we hear from you.
