Freedom of Information Request 19/12/1798
I write in response to your request for information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000
(FOIA) received on 23 December 2020.
I would like to submit a Freedom of Information Request comprising of the questions below, so
that we can proficiently anticipate your needs at such time when your catering/FM contract comes
to tender.
ESS Government services has already successfuly provided catering/FM contracts for departments
and would welcome the opportunity to take on further government contracts in the future.
1) Is a catering restaurant or café provided on the premises?
Yes.
2) What are the addresses of the buildings in which the restaurants or cafés are
located?
Kent Police HQ, Sutton Road, Maidstone, Kent ME15 9BZ.
3) Who is the current catering incumbent of the catering contract?
Compass ESS.
4) What is the catering value? (Or is it nil subsidy?) Are the catering facilities shared
with other departments?
No subsidy, and the facility is open to al employees.
5) When is the catering service contract due for re-tender?
27/12/22.
6) How wil it be re-tendered?
To be confirmed, but current contract was tendered via ESPO framework.
7) Is the contract part of a PFI?
No.
8) Is it part of an FM contract? (and if so, what services are also included in the
contract?) Who provides the other soft FM services?
No. It’s a stand- alone contract.

9) Who wil be the main person leading on the tender during the formal tender
process?
Not known at this time, but wil be covered by the Property Category Management Team.
10) When wil the tender notice be issued?
To be confirmed but around 6-9 months before expiry of current contract.
11) Where wil the tender notice be issued?
Contracts Finder.
12) When is the tender due for release?
To be advised but likely mid-2022.
13) Is it on CCS framework?
No.
14) Who in the department is responsible for the management of the contract?
To be confirmed nearer to Contract Award.
15) How many people are there on site per day?
Not known or recorded.
