Project Overview
EEAST Research Support Services (RSS), in
collaboration with the Trust Wellbeing Hub, has
purpose-designed an anonymous 20-question survey
(accessed via https://tinyurl.com/y43ar2jo) to explore
the impact of the menopause on female staff, in order to
develop appropriate support and resources, and
improve staff wellbeing.
The findings of the MIDWEST survey will inform the
development of a future research proposal for which
external funding will be sought.
The below screening questions are to determine if a full-scale DPIA is required. These
questions are intended to help you decide whether a DPIA is necessary. Answering ‘yes’ to
any of these questions is an indication that a DPIA would be a useful exercise.
Will the project involve the collection of new information about individuals?
Will the project compel individuals to provide information about themselves? Does
the information comprise of personal data or special category data?
No personal-identifying data is being collected.
Will information about individuals be disclosed to organisations or people who have
not previously had routine access to the information?
No personal-identifying data will be disclosed to other organisations or people.
Are you using information about individuals for a purpose it is not currently used for,
or in a way it is not currently used?
No personal-identifying data is being collated or used. The planned research proposal will
only include the survey findings in anonymous, themed, summary format.
Does the project involve you using new technology that might be perceived as being
privacy intrusive? For example, the use of biometrics or facial recognition.
No
Will the project result in you making decisions or taking action against individuals in
ways that can have a significant impact on them?
No
Is the information about individuals of a kind particularly likely to raise privacy
concerns or expectations? For example, health records, criminal records or other
information that people would consider to be private.
No. In addition, all questions are optional so that if an individual does not wish to share
information they consider private, they may still participate in the remainder of this survey.
Will the project require you to contact individuals in ways that they may find
intrusive?
No. Staff will be invited to complete an online (Microsoft Forms) survey which is to be
advertised via Trust-approved methods, i.e. Need-to-Know and Trust email.
