Dear Andrew Hill,
Thank you for your Freedom of Information (FoI) request received on 12 November 2019. You
asked:
‘Could I Kindly request as detailed of figures as possible for annual staff turn over rates in the
PIP ESA & JSA assessor is. This would regard the sub contractor's mainly but not excluding
any others. Capita Asos,& Maximus. Mostly made up of ex NHS Doctors nurses paramedics
podiatrists etc. If this could detail what the average time of these staff from recruitment to
finally leaving the ( the mean or median). this would also be helpful. If you are unclear of any
aspect of this request please don't hesitate to contact me.’
DWP Response:
It may be helpful if I explain the role of the FoI Act. The Act gives you the right to access
recorded information held by public sector organisations. While that would include information
held by private companies delivering a service on behalf of public sector organisations, it only
applies to information held on behalf of the public authority and not to information private
companies hold solely in their own right.
The Act does not provide that a public authority must create new information to answer
questions; nor does it provide that a public authority give advice, opinion or explanation in
relation to issues/policies under question on behalf of private companies.
I can confirm that the information you requested is not held by the Department for Work and
Pensions, and as such, I cannot process your request.
If you have any queries about this letter, please contact me quoting the reference number
above.
Yours sincerely,
DWP Central FoI Team
