Coastal Communities Fund Application – Southwold Enterprise Hub
As a key partner in the development and coordination of the Southwold Coastal Community
Team, I am writing to confirm that Waveney District Council is pleased to support your
application to the Coastal Communities Fund for the Southwold Enterprise Hub project.
The project closely aligns with the vision that the Council has stated within our East Suffolk
Growth Plan (2018/2023) for “businesses across East Suffolk to have the confidence to invest
and grow, creating opportunities for people of all ages and improving further the quality of life
in an outstanding environment”.
The Station Yard Enterprise Hub in particular supports the deliverable identified in the Growth
Plan: “ensuring that market and coastal towns have appropriate levels and types of small
business provision, and grow-on space”. The Growth Plan also emphasises the importance of
East Suffolk’s unique location and calls for the tourism industry to be strengthened which the
two Development Posts will seek to achieve.
Our East Suffolk Tourism Strategy (2017/2022) focuses on improving the visitor experience by
having a clear vision of the unique offer aims and seeking to extend the traditional tourist
season. Having seen the job descriptions for the two Development Posts I believe that the
creation of “products” both in and out of season is a vital deliverable for the project.
I wish you every success with your application.
