I’m writing to let you know that we will be announcing additional Coastal Communities Fund
Round 5 grant awards for England on 20 September.
In the initial call for proposals in February 2018 we received many good applications, more
applications than we could fund. A number of projects were put on a reserve list, should
further funding be made available and I am delighted to share the exciting news that,
following confirmation of additional funds being available, one of the projects selected to
receive an award is in your constituency: Southwold Enterprise Hub - Southwold Town Council
£995,000 awarded to Southwold Town Council to create an enterprise hub that will house 1
retail unit and 15 business units, to accommodate start-up and existing businesses. It will
also establish a Team responsible for implementing initiatives that will improve the economy
of the area.
This project is one of 5 additional Coastal Community Fund applications in England to
receive a grant under Round 5. Collectively, these, the fast track and main round applications
already awarded funding are forecast to create over 4,000 jobs and attract over £45 million in
additional public and private sector funding.
Since 2012, CCF has awarded grants to 354 projects across the UK, totalling over £218
All 5 additional winners will be announced on 20 September. I’d be grateful if this information
is kept strictly embargoed until we publish the full list on the gov.uk web site.
I hope that this award will help to support your efforts to boost the economic success of your
