Thank you for your request for information made under the Freedom of Information Act 
(FOIA) 2000, relating to school distances. Please see the response below:
Dartford Grammar School, Dartford Grammar School for Girls primarily rank 
applications to their school based on the score achieved in the Kent Test and not on 
distance. The Leigh Academy, after splitting children into bands based on the school’s 
ability testing, primarily rank applicants using randomisation.

For the other schools listed we can provide the distance of the lowest ranked child 
offered a place at the school by straight line, in miles.

The largest distance quoted is correct. In this case, we received an application from a 
child way up the country via their local authority and were able to offer a place.
