Hi Jon,

I have now had the detailed project proposals from my colleagues who would be undertaking a screening service
(attached). Historic England’s flat hourly rate is £100 exclusive of VAT. This would give the following costs for the
two options:

  Single Phase Screening service for the area within the red impact boundary: £14,400 ex. VAT
2

I hope that this provides you with all you need to consider how to move forward. If you require any further
information though please do get in touch.

All the best

Deborah

Hi Deborah, thanks for this. Just to confirm then (I’m afraid my memory is appalling), we’d discussed;
‐
A screening exercise based on your Enhanced Advisory Service to be undertaken in two phases;
o  The first focussed around the existing transport assets to be the subject of an upcoming consultation
exercise with an appropriate, but quite tightly defined, buffer, followed by
3

Assuming that’s your recollection too (!) are you able to confirm the estimate for the screening service element for
those two phases. I know you had estimated 8‐10K initially but mindful that was for a single area/ process.

Apologies for the questions, I’m just trying to work out how to advise colleagues here on the process and likely
budget envelope we’ll need to factor in.

I’m now out of the office until 12th August but will be picking up emails until Friday. If you’re able to reply before
then that would be great and I can hopefully set the wheels in motion!

Many thanks again for your help.
Regards
Jon
