Dear John Slater,
Thank you for your Freedom of Information (FoI) request received on 30 August. You asked:
In its response FOI2019/25478 of 7 August 2019 in respect of the PIP contracts the
Department claimed:

“Your request for the 2017 and 2018 change requests in respect of the Personal
Independence Payment contracts would take a considerable amount of time to locate, retrieve
and extract.”

As it would cost too much to extract the change requests this implies that the change requests
have been incorporated into the revised contracts (i.e. the effective contracts) that are used by
the Department to manage the 3 PIP contracts.

RFI1: Please disclose the current effective PIP contract between the Secretary of State for
Work and Pensions and Atos for Lot 1. Please note that this request excludes information that
would be exempt under section 40(2) FOIA.

DWP Response:
DWP have considered the request to disclose the current effective PIP Lot 1
contract and apply Section 22 of the FOI Act as this information is intended
for future publication.
Following the conclusion of the PIP Lot 1 contract extension, work is
ongoing to update the contract documentation to incorporate the associated
changes. DWP aim for the re-baselined documents to be available in Spring
2020.
If you have any queries about this letter, please contact me quoting the reference number
above.
Yours sincerely,

DWP Central FoI Team
