Bus Fares 
changes
From 04:30 on 2 January 2011
The cash fare will increase to £2.20 
 
 
 
The Oyster pay as you go fare will be £1.30 (65p for holders of 
16+, New Deal and Bus & Tram Discount Oyster photocards)
 
 One day’s Pay As You Go travel on buses will be ‘capped’ at £4.00 
(£2.00 for holders of 16+, New Deal and Bus & Tram Discount 
Oyster photocards)
 
The prices of Bus and Tram Passes, and Travelcards, will change
If you sign-on your module before 04:30 on 2 January 2011, the old  
fares will still be shown on the ticket machine, and must continue to  
be charged for the whole of your duty.
Make sure you get a new fare chart for the route(s) you work on.

accepted on London’s buses from 
2 January 2011
Single journey tickets £2.20 per ride
 
Oyster pay as you go
 £1.30 per ride (65p per ride for discount photocard holders); 
‘cap’ for bus travel in one day is £4.00 (£2.00 for discount photocard holders)
Saver tickets no longer on public sale but must still be accepted
 
Bus & Tram Passes  
One Day:  No longer on public sale but must be accepted if valid
 
7 Day: 
   £17.80 
Lower prices are available for  
Monthly: 
  £68.40 
Annual: 
£712.00 } discount photocard holders
 
Travelcards  
One Day, 7 Day, and longer  
Prices vary according to zones bought for rail travel;  
periods (up to one year)
} all Travelcards are valid on all buses
Under-11s - travel free and do not need to show any ticket or pass
11-15 ‘Zip’ Oyster photocards free travel at all times
 
16+ ‘Zip’ Oyster photocards free or half-rate travel at all times
 
Bearer Passes – free travel, if shown as valid on buses
 
Freedom Passes and English National Concessionary Passes free travel at all times
English National Concessionary Passes marked ‘C’ or ‘C+’ do not allow free travel for 
companions on any journey starting within Greater London. Check the fare chart for  
validity outside Greater London 
 
Wheelchair users do not need to show a pass. Companions must show a pass or pay a fare
 
Guide Dogs for the Blind Puppy Walkers if accompanied by a Guide Dog
 
Parking/Council Attendant Passes if on duty and in full uniform
 
Police Warrant and Staff (PCSO) Cards 
 
Staff, Bus Operator, Nominee and Retired Staff Oyster cards
 with the correct photocard
