Dear Khalid
Sorry I missed you call. This site has proved highly controversial over the past couple of
years. I attended re the sewerage works last Thursday. I have yet to come to a decision re
the need for PP. It is not in the same location as the solar panels. Its forward of unit 64 on
the attached plan
My site note is below-

Marcus

Hello Khalid
Is B.Regs needed for just a tank serving caravans? Incidentally is this the same place with
the solar panel issues?

Subject: Potential sewage works on lower slopes of Rocklands Caravan Park TN35 5DY -
threat to stability of landslip
Dear Sir
As you may be aware there has been a landslip in Ecclesbourne Glen which has led to the
closure of public rights of way in Ecclesbourne Glen.
The existing sewage system on the lower slopes of Rocklands caravan park is at risk from
this landslip. It seems that Rocklands are now in the process of upgrading the foul drainage
system on the unstable lower slopes of the caravan park.
This upgrade will involve substantial groundworks in an area of known slope instability.
We are writing to you to inform you of these works in order to ensure that proper consultation
takes place prior to any works taking place. We believe that building control consent is
required for such infrastructural works.
We are concerned about the potential impact of the works on the stability of the landslip and
whether proper process will be followed by Rocklands and HBC.
In the past Rocklands have carried out substantial developments on the lower slopes without
seeking proper permissions from HBC and other statutory bodies.
Should these works be carried out without proper investigations into land stability then we
fear that they could further impact on the stability of the slopes leading to further damage to
the glen which is an SSSI/SAC.
We have written to key officers at HBC expressing our concerns.
Please see attached copy of our letter to HBC.
Yours sincerely
Chris Hurrell
