Thank you for your recent request received 29 May 2019. Your request was actioned 
under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 in which you requested the following 
information – 
 
1. Why did the Liverpool echo on or about 20th of May 2019, decide to cancel the e-mail from 
Cllr Ann O'Byrne to the Mayor with regards to Urban splash and Chinatown from 2014? 
 
2. Will the Liverpool city council, now be handing over this e-mail to the SFO in the event it 
could help the SFO with this ongoing investigation? 
 
3. Will the council also keep all, Cllr Ann O’Byrne’s past records from her phone log and 
computer from 2013 that could help with this on-going investigation?". 
 

Response: 
Liverpool City Council does not hold any information as regards the commercial activities 
and decision-making of the Liverpool Echo and would advise that you refer such inquiries 
directly to the Liverpool Echo.  
 
With regard to the remaining elements of your request, naturally Liverpool City Council will if 
requested by any relevant investigatory authorities, provide advice, information and 
guidance as may be required.  
 
This concludes our response. 
 
The City Council will consider appeals, referrals or complaints in respect of your Freedom of 
Information Act 2000 and you must submit these in writing to

matter will be dealt with by an officer who was not previously involved with the response and 
we will look to provide a response within 40 days.
