Dear
Apologies for the delay in coming back to you here.
Applications for extensions to Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders (TTROs) are made by ESCC directly to the
Secretary of State (SoS) via the Department for Transport’s (DFT) National Transport Casework Team based in
Newcastle.
There is no formal means of objection to TTROs, but in applying for extension ESCC must advise whether any
objections have been raised to the existing closure. It is my understanding that the SoS then has discretionary
powers to consider any objections.
Reading between the lines here and being aware that you are a member of the Friends of Hastings Country Park, I
suspect that your question might relate to the extension of the closure of the paths in Ecclesbourne Glen ? If that
is the case I can advise that in making the application for extension of the closure to the landslip affected paths we
have notified the DfT of the representations made to the County Council by the Friends of the Country Park.
Kind regards

Hi
1
A quick question on closed footpaths if you wouldn’t mind. I noted that after a specified period of closure
that further extensions then have to go to The Secretary of State. Could you please briefly explain this
process (who can make the application etc.) and tell me if public representations can be made if such an
extension request goes to the Secretary?
Many thanks
