Dear Mr. Bradley
Information request
Reference number: FOI2019/00451
Thank you for your email of 17 April 2019, in which you requested the following
information:
‘In relation to a Freedom of Information Request made by myself on the 27th
July 2018 you kindly informed me that between 2008 & 2018 the sole lift at
Halifax Railway Station broke down 158 times and that 113 of these
breakdowns "related to general wear and tear".

public/
I would now like to request information as to when Network Rail will be
replacing the lift at this station that saw 1,948,692 entries and exits during the
period between 2017-2018?’
I have processed your request under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act
2000 (FOIA).
I have checked with my colleagues within our Lift Asset Management & Maintenance
team and can confirm that renewal for this lift is planned for 2024. As the lift was
manufactured in 1999, the current renewal date is in line with Network Rail’s renewal
policy of 25 years.
Since the last report provided in July 2018 there has been five further faults as of,
and up to the 2 May 2019. This will continue to be monitored.
