Re: Freedom of Information request Thank you for your request under the
Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the Act). This response is
provided on behalf of NHS Islington Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG). Your request along with the
CCG’s response is detailed below.
Can I request a copy of NHS Islington Clinical Commissioning Group guidance on specials and
prescribing dilemmas for medicines?
The Islington Prescribing Dilemmas Document is a guide for Islington Prescribers which I have
attached to this email.
Islington CCG is a member of the
North Central London (NCL) Joint Formulary Committee (JFC).
The NCL JFC consists of consultants, GPs, pharmacists, other health professionals and patient
partners. NCL JFC is responsible for establishing whether new medicines, and existing medicines
for new conditions, represent a cost-effective use of NHS resources. NCL have produced a
prescribing guidance document which provides information on the prescribing of specials. Please
note the review date of this document is December 2018 and NCL JFC are due to update this
document.
