Thank you for your e-mail of 30 October 2018 where you requested the following
information:
“
Interim Chief Executive is reported as saying the Mayor obtained Advice outside the
Authority. Can you please provide the name of the solicitor (or barrister) involved,
how much they were paid and how their services were procured, please? (If there is
a risk of ambiguity, please provide enough detail to enable identification of the
adviser and their registration status)”
We have now completed searching for the information you requested. In response
to your questions, we confirm as follows:
• The name of the firm of solicitors providing the advice was Trowers and
Hamlin LLP
• Their invoice cost was £11,202 plus VAT
• Their services were procured by East Cambridgeshire District Council on
behalf of the Combined Authority
