RE: Kingspark - drainage layout
History:
This message has been replied to.
Our hydrologist,
, is attending the committee with us tonight and has prepared something which will cover this and any other flooding/drainage items. Following the
meeting we’ll issue a statement which specifically covers this point if that is acceptable?

Hi
Further to the details provided to date with regard to the proposed development at Kingspark, including FRA and drainage details would you be able to
provide the following by the end of Friday (16th) in support of 17/00765/FULM.
1. Calculations/statement to demonstrate that the attenuated surface water discharge from the development site to the Gelly Burn culvert (1.5l/s during the
1:30 year event plus allowance for climate change and 1.8l/s during the 1:200 year event plus allowance for climate change) will not increase flood risk
elsewhere.

Thanks for the response. As we understood the position, it was only a form from yourself - confirming support - which was still required. This is the first we have heard of
outstanding comments from the City Engineer.
is this something you can expedite?

I will review the drawings and give comments as soon as possible but the City Engineer also has to pass comments on the proposal as part of the planning
application and I can't say when they will be in a position to pass comments on.

Please find attached a copy of the following in support of the planning application for the above:-
WinDES simulation results for surface water sewers
WinDES simulation results for the detention basin (M30 and M200 storm events)
WinDES network plan
Drawing 14325/02/003’E’ (Drainage Layout)
The attached Micro Drainage results demonstrate that there will be no flooding within the development during either the M30 or M200 Storm Events
(including additional 30% allowance for climate change and additional 10% roof area for future extensions).
The detention basin will have a minimum depth of 1m from invert to top of bank. The Micro Drainage results demonstrate that the max depth of water in
the basin during the M30 and M200 Storm Events (including additional 30% allowance for climate change and additional 10% roof area for future
extensions) will be approximately 0.525m and 0.737m respectively – therefore the water will be contained within the basin with no flooding off site.
The diverted and culverted burn through the site has been modelled by others to demonstrate that no flooding would occur within the site as a result. A
copy of the assessment will be forwarded to you by separate cover.
