I write in response to your request for information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000

Please list the total number of crimes that were screened out and closed as they required ‘no
Please provide a breakdown by alleged crime and reason for closure.
Please provide historic data for 2017, 2016, 2015,2014, 2013 or however many years possible.
Please provide a breakdown by calendar year.
How many crimes were reported in total for each of those years?
The College of Policing Authorised Professional Practice provides guidance in relation to police
Kent Police’s own policy on Crime Investigation is available from the Kent Police website:
The investigation of all crimes reported to Kent Police will be assessed individually with
consideration given to factors provided in the attached appendix, however Kent Police does not
operate a screening out process and as such no information relevant to screening out is held.
The Home Office publish annual crime data by force, offence type and outcome, and is available
for the years 2006 onwards at the link below, under ‘Outcomes open data year ending March xxx’:
