FREEDOM OF INFORMATION (SCOTLAND) ACT 2002
I refer to your recent request for information which has been handled in accordance with the
Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.
For ease of reference, your request is replicated below together with the response.
Was former Chief Constable Phil Gormley made aware of complaints made by
Holyrood civil servants and others who claimed sexual misconduct by MSP’s?
If he was made aware of these allegations, when was he informed?
In response to your request we can confirm that we have checked our records and can find
no record of the complaints referred to in the question above. The former Chief Constable
Phil Gormley was regularly briefed, on a daily and weekly basis, on various operational
matters and these briefings would take place on both a formal and informal basis. Whilst we
have no record of the complaints requested we cannot state that the former Chief Constable
Phil Gormley was not made aware of such complaints.
We are therefore unable to answer your request as the information is not held. Section 17
of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 is therefore applied – information not
held.
Should you require any further assistance concerning this matter please contact Information
Management - Stirling on 01786 456321 quoting the reference number given.
