19 April 2018

Dear Mr Wilding,

Thank you for your request for information dated 20 March 2018 asking for information about Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service (NFRS) fire safety compliance inspections of residential buildings.

This request was handled under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) 2000.

We contacted you on 26 March to confirm the height of buildings you wanted information about. You confirmed you wanted information about 18m+ buildings.

Please accept my apologies, as unfortunately the building height categories recorded on NFRS systems is not at 6 storeys (18m) as I said, it is at 4-9 storeys and 10 storeys+. I apologise for any confusion caused. If there is other data you want that we might hold, please let us know.

I confirm that Nottinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service (NFRS) partly holds the information you requested. We hold information for fire safety compliance inspections of buildings, but this is recorded as:
o        1 – 4 storeys (low-rise category approx. 3 – 12m)
o        4 – 9 storey (mid-rise category approx. 12 – 27m)
o        over 9 storey, (high rise category, 27m plus).

We have included details for buildings recorded as 4+ storeys. In the information supplied records are included for whether buildings are recorded as 4-9 storey (mid-rise) or 9+ storeys (high rise).

You asked for:

•         Details, including outcomes, of all fire safety compliance inspections conducted on high-rise residential buildings since 14 June 2017.

NFRS have carried out a total of 42 audits on all of the buildings in both the mid and high rise categories since 14 June 2017.

We have listed separately the 12 audits on aluminium composite material (ACM) buildings since 14 June 2017, which were identified as requiring an inspection following the Grenfell tragedy. Two of these were not recorded as specific heights, but we have included them in case of interest.

If you would like to discuss this, or any other query, with our Corporate Communications Team you can contact them on 0115 838 8200 or email
