46 Week Wait from Referral to Treatment - Why?

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust,

I have written to yourselves, CCQ, NHS England and my GP on numerous occasions regarding your denial of my legal right to consultancy led treatment within 18 weeks of referral and have been fobbed off and passed from pillar to post at every turn.

I have finally been given a date of treatment, 46 weeks post referral! I have, since May, requested my right to be seen at an alternative hospital to all of the aforementioned departments. Again, fobbed off.

I have documented every letter and phone call sent and received since my GP referral on 2nd January.

My question is, why have I been denied my legal right despite my numerous written requests over several months and despite other local hospitals, which accept NHS patients, having avialable slots within a much quicker timeframe?

Dear Allison,

Thank you very much for your advice.

I have complained to the various bodies, but they are all basically just different departments of the same corrupt organisation and covering their own arses.

I have put together a file with all of the correspondence to date, and will take matters further in due course. The only reason I have to have further surgery is to correct the mistakes the LRI made in the first place!

Thanks again,

Chris.

Chris
