Further to our acknowledgement of 9th February, we are responding to your information
request received on 5th February 2018.
You asked:
Dear Cuckoo Hall Academies Trust,
Which newspapers, magazines, journals & online subscriptions did the organisation procure or
receive free during the year 16/17?
Due to the nature of your request we have assumed ‘online subscriptions’ to mean electronic
newspapers, magazines and journals.
Out Trust did not purchase any newspapers, magazines, journals or online subscriptions during
either the academic of financial year 16/17.
It is of course very possible that individuals within our academies have elected to receive free
email newsletter updates from organisations (such the Department for Education, Ofsted,
Schools Week or TES) or indeed chosen to pay to receive newspapers, magazines or journals
themselves, however we are not required to keep records of any subscriptions to which
individuals may choose to subscribe; free or otherwise. As such we do not hold this information.
Were we asked to establish this, such a request would be perceived as a manifestly
unreasonable in line with Section 14(1) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 as it would
require us contacting in excess of 350 employees and collating their responses; a task in itself
would exceed the cost limit of Section 12 of the Act.
