Dear Mr Forks,
Re: Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 – Request for Information
Thank you for your email which was received by the University on 31 October 2017 timed
14:17 hours, requesting the following information:
I am conducting a research product in order to ascertain the total number of Library
fines that were paid at universities in the UK.
I am therefore writing to ask about library fines during the academic year 2016/2017,
under the Freedom of Information Act. For the time period starting from the first day of
term, covering the next 364 days (e.g. one full year), please provide:
1. The total amount of money the library received from the payment of overdue items.
Exclude costs of replacing lost books if possible – this request solely relates to the
cost of items that are returned later than their due date.
As the University of Glasgow is a Scottish Public Authority, your request is subject to the
terms of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (“FOISA”). The University
acknowledges receipt of your request and confirms a response will be sent to you promptly;
and in any event not later than 28 November 2017.
The Freedom of Information Office will
contact you if we require any further information.
