Dear Mr Gravil FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST 45061
Thank you for your e-mail of 16 August 2017, in which you ask for information regarding UK Border
Force coastal patrol vessels. The full request is detailed at Annex A. Your request has been
handled as a request for information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
I am able to disclose Border Force bought eight (8) x BP ARRC's, later renamed as coastal patrol
vessels (CPV's) from Delta at a total cost of C£1m, these being all of the eight ex-BP vessels. As
at today’s date, we have no immediate plans to purchase more.
The general particulars are readily available on the internet, please see the following link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMC_Active.
We can confirm that the CPV's will be operational in UK waters.
Yours sincerely A FEHELEY

Subject: Freedom of Information request - UK Border Force Coastal Patrol Vessels
Dear Home Office,
I respectfully request details as part of a Freedom of Information Request regarding the new UK
Border Force coastal patrol vessels, four of which are called Active, Alert, Eagle and Nimrod. How
much have these vessels cost to procure from BP and what are their general particulars (length,
breadth, draught, range, power, etc)? How many are planned to be bought from BP in total and
where will they be based?
