Dear Mr Atkinson,
I refer to your request for information regarding "how much money has been
"donated" to the "charity" Common Purpose, who has been on their courses
and which departments are they in?"
Please find attached copies of invoices paid to Common Purpose. These
are not `donations' but are payments for courses provided by Common
Purpose. Where individuals have attended courses, their names are
detailed on the invoice, and their departments are as follows:
Sonia Sharp, Strategic Director, Children and Young Peoples Services
Sioned Mair-Richards, Scrutiny Advisor, Chief Executives Office
Vanessa Bryan, Neighbourhood Manager, Neighbourhoods and Adult Services
Matt Gladstone, Assistant Chief Executive
Robert Parker, Business Support Manager, Legal Services
Teresa Butler - Business Support Director, Rotherham 2010
Paul Broadberry - Chief Executive, RBT (Connect) Ltd
Steve Turnbull, Financial Services
The invoices for payments of £10,000 in each of the years 2008 and 2009
were for costs relating to four `Your Turn' courses. In each course 30
young people from different Rotherham secondary schools participated.
Your Turn is a leadership and development course specifically designed for
young people. The invoice for £7,242.50 was between Rotherham Youth
Service and Common Purpose. 30 young people attended a bespoke "Your
Turn" experience which was different to the course provided through the
schools.
In accordance with the procedures of Rotherham Metropolitan Borough
Council (RMBC), I am advising you that the cost to the authority in
responding to this request has been £131.00 which reflects the staff time
and administration costs involved. RMBC however does not currently make
any charge to customers for processing Freedom of Information Act
requests.
