ABERDEEN HARBOUR BOARD - ABERDEEN HARBOUR EXPANSION PROJECT,
CONSTRUCTION AND CAPITAL DREDGING & SEA DISPOSAL, NIGG BAY - CEMD - HABITAT
MANAGEMENT PLAN & OTTER PROTECTION PLAN

Marine Scotland Science has reviewed the submitted plan and has provided the following comments.

marine mammals
Reference is made in the introduction of this plan to a Marine Mammals Protection Plan (MMPP).
We understand this to be the same as the Marine Mammal Mitigation Plan (MMMP).

It is unclear whether marine species are intended to be included in this document; some are (e.g.
eider and salmon) while others are not (e.g. bottlenose dolphin).  If marine species should be
included, then he section covering protected sites should include the Moray Firth SAC for bottlenose
dolphins, and the list of notable species should include bottlenose dolphin.

ornithology
No comments.

marine fish ecology
Thankyou for sight of chapter 9 “Habitat Management Plan”.  With regards marine fish species, the
chapter directs to the Fish Species Protection Plan; any comments relating to marine fish ecology will
be found within comments on that section.

diadromous fish
Please use our comments on Chapter 08 Fish Species Protection Plan in relation to diadromous fish,
as relevant.

Hopefully these comments are helpful to you.  If you wish to discuss any matters further contact the
MSS Renewables in-box xxxxxxxxxxxxx@xxx.xxxx.

Yours sincerely
