request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
Number of Successful ETD Applications
For the following years, please provide the number of successful applications made for
Emergency Travel Documents.

Deportations and Enforced Removals via a European Letter
For the following years, please provide the number of people who were forcibly removed or
deported from the UK via 1) a European letter, and 2) a Chicago Convention letter.

Prosecution for ETD Non-compliance
For the following years, please provide an answer as to how many people were prosecuted
for failing to co-operate with the re-documentation process of obtaining an ETD for their

the nationality attributed to individuals by the Home Office.

Please provide me with the quality assurance process for obtaining Emergency Travel

Deportations and Enforced Removals via an ETD
For the following years, please provide the number of 1) enforced removals, and 2)
deportations, that were carried out using an Emergency Travel Document obtained by the
Home Office. If possible, please include the total number of deportations and forced removals
(via both charter and commercial flights) for each year, or present the request in terms of
percentages, so that the answers can be viewed in respect to the total number of
deportations and removals carried out per year, with or without an ETD.

Failed Deportations
For the following years, please provide the number of times that people forcibly removed or
deported arrived at the country of destination, but the plane was denied permission to land, or
the person was denied permission to disembark, and the plane had to return to the UK with
the person facing removal or deportation. If possible, please specify when the refusal by the
receiving country was due to a lack of, or incorrect, travel documents for the person being
forcibly removed or deported.
Inability to Obtain ETD
For the following years, please provide the number of people (awaiting deportation or
enforced removal) released from detention, due to the inability to obtain an ETD for their
deportation or enforced removal where possible, please provide data categorised by
nationality, specifying the countries to which deportation or enforced removal was sought. If
possible, please specific the numbers for when the inability to obtain an ETD was due to
individual non-compliance, or due to the receiving country's refusal to issue an ETD.

The attached seven Freedom of Information requests have been amalgamated as
they relate to a similar subject matter.
We are still progressing your request. I regret that we are unable to send you a full
