Governors Meeting held on Monday 18th October 2010
A secondment request had been received from Joe Anderson (Social Inclusion Manager) for the
period 1st September 2010 to 31st August 2011 to carry out his duties as Leader of Liverpool Council. The
request was granted as long as it did not have a detrimental financial effect on the School. The secondment
will be reviewed in May 2011.
Chesterfield High School is a Limited Company registered in England and Wales. Company Registration No 7761675
Registered Office: Chesterfield Road, Crosby, Liverpool, Merseyside L23 9YB
Governors Meeting held on Monday 23rd May 2011
Joe Anderson’s 12 month period of secondment was discussed. Although Sefton is currently
covering the cost of the secondment, the absence of the postholder does cause instability within the School.
It was agreed that the secondment should be ended on 31st August 2011. Governors Meeting held on Monday 17th October 2011
Conversations had taken place with Sefton Legal and HR Department concerning the
unwritten agreement with Local Authorities regarding release for staff to take up public office responsibilities.
Prior to conversion Sefton were paying a proportion of Mr Anderson’s salary. As part of the TUPE process
this transferred to Chesterfield on 1st October 2011. Chairs Meeting held on Wednesday 12th September 2012
Meeting brought up to date regarding Mr Anderson. He is currently paid for 208 hours per
year and post kept open. Since elected Mayor he is not entitled to any payment. School inherited existing
arrangements upon conversion from Sefton LA. Letter received from Liverpool City Council solicitors which
was passed to XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX. Unsure what was actually being requested. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
prepared letter to be sent from school informing Mr Anderson that his payments were to be terminated. All
agreed and XXXXXXXXXXXX signed letter.
Chairs Meeting held on Wednesday 26th March 2014 Joe Anderson:
Joe Anderson has appealed the Employment Tribunal’s decision to the Employment Appeals
Tribunal (EAT). Agreement has been given to postpone the Remedy Hearing until the EAT have reached a
decision. Confirmation is being sought from the Insurance Company regarding cover.
