Re: Request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the Act) 
 
The Authority has considered your request which was received on 1st July 2015 and 
our response to your questions is shown below. 
 
“Please can you send any information which goes to explain how Nottingham City 
Council was acting within the EU Competition laws on state aid when paying out over 
£7.5m towards the annual losses made by health and safety equipment sales 
company, Woodfield Industries.” 
 
Woodfield Industries is the Supported Employment facility of Nottingham City Council 
which provides a number of commercial services as well as training and education to 
both our employees and external partners. 
 
We can confirm that Woodfield Industries did not make a loss, or receive funding of 
£7.5m. There is no breach of EU Competition laws. 
 
You are free to use any information supplied for your own personal use. However,
